Where Little Hearts Bloom and Parents Grow
Hearts We Grow is a faith-rooted, compassionate parenting platform founded with one simple but powerful belief — that every child deserves to be raised with love, intention, and purpose. We are a dedicated space for parents navigating the beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming, journey of raising young children in today’s world.
Founded by Umm Khadijah, Hearts We Grow was born out of a deep passion for conscious parenting, early childhood development, and the timeless wisdom of Islamic values. Having walked the parenting journey herself, Umm Khadijah understands the challenges, the questions, and the longing every parent has to simply do better — for their children and for themselves.
Founder & Head of Hearts We Grow
Hearts We Grow began as a seed of an idea — a vision to create a nurturing space where parents could learn, grow, and feel supported without judgement. Inspired by the book “Hearts We Grow — The Early Year Garden: A Parenting Journey From Seed to Bloom”, the platform was built to bring the wisdom of its pages to life through courses, community, and compassionate guidance.
Just as a garden needs the right conditions to flourish, so do our children. And just as every seed grows at its own pace, so does every parent. We are here to walk alongside you — every step of the way.
Hearts We Grow aspires to be a trusted guide in shaping a
generation that leads with empathy, resilience, and compassion.
Hearts We Grow is a thoughtful and comprehensive parenting guide that beautifully blends modern child development research with Islamic values of tarbiyah. It covers essential areas such as emotional connection, mindful parenting, boundaries with love, nutrition, play, and caregiver wellbeing in a practical and accessible way.
A key strength of Hearts We Grow is its emphasis on the early years, which both research and Islamic teachings highlight as the most formative stage of a child’s life. Studies show that around 80% of brain growth happens by age 3, and about 90% of brain development occurs by age 5. During this time, early attachment, emotional safety, routines, language exposure, and parent-child interaction play a critical role in shaping a child’s future behavior, learning, and emotional regulation.
This aligns closely with the Islamic tarbiyah approach, where the early years are focused on love, mercy, play, and building a strong emotional bond.
The book reflects this beautifully by encouraging connection before correction, empathy, and gentle guidance, inspired by the Prophetic example of kindness toward children. With practical tools like reflection exercises, routines, and emotion coaching, it offers parents clear ways to apply these principles in everyday life.
Overall, Hearts We Grow is a valuable resource for parents and caregivers who want to raise emotionally secure, confident, and spiritually grounded children in a balanced and nurturing way.
As an education consultant specialising in SEND, teaching, and learning, I found the Hearts We Grow course to be a thoughtful and valuable resource for parents and educators alike. The course beautifully combines modern child development understanding with Islamic principles of tarbiyah, while promoting emotional connection, gentle guidance, and healthy child development in a practical way. I also particularly appreciated the complementary materials, including the short poem books and the educational charts on healthy eating and the five key elements of parenting, which make learning engaging and accessible for families and young children.
Founded by Umm Khadijah, our platform blends evidence-based parenting practices with Islamic values and compassionate guidance, creating a trusted space where families can learn, reflect, and grow. Whether you are a new parent or finding your footing, we are here to walk alongside you — every step of the way.
